Neocon 2024 brought fresh design ideas, inspiring new color palettes, and exciting product introductions to support collaboration, heads-down work, and respite. Throughout The Mart and across town at Fulton Market, manufacturers showcased ancillary solutions coated in a variety of color families and textiles, creating unique experiences in each showroom. Manufacturers like Steelcase are focused not just on supporting employees now that they’ve returned to the office, but on helping them find joy at work. Below are the most impactful design trends that brought us joy in this year’s NeoCon travels!
Major Steelcase Product Launches
Orangebox Campers & Dens… a beautiful and refined piece of interior architecture. Campers & Dens helps you intuitively define your workplace by delivering layers of privacy through campers, cabins, and awnings, and flexibility and choice thanks to its wide range of configurations.
Ocular View… a new dimension for connection. Co-developed by Steelcase and Logitech, Ocular View is an immersive, realistic, and personal meeting experience that makes you feel like you’re together, even if you’re miles apart.
Ocular Sightlines… an expansion on the existing line of tables designed for hybrid collaboration. Joining the Arc7, Coupe5, and Coupe3, the Sightlines range of tables utilize the same design concepts as the Coupe tables to accommodate groups of 6, 8, and 10.
Frank Lloyd Wright Rockford + Galesburg Collections… inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s midcentury Usonian ideals. The Rockford + Galesburg Collections are shaped by the architect’s progressive vision of great design for everyone. These new interpretations of fine, modern furniture for the home and workplace shed light on an unexpected Wright, who has even more relevance today.
Coalesse Ensemble… components, combinations, and configurations to create gathering places that work. The Ensemble Lounge System naturally combines intuitive performance with infinite design expression.
Designtex Joy… a new collection of woven and coated high-performance textiles. Joy reflects Designtex’s longstanding belief that the spaces we inhabit should uplift our spirits. Inspired by evidence-based research, the collection features rhythmic shapes, vibrant colors, and unexpected textural details that delight our senses and, as the name suggests, bring us joy.

Height-adjustable occasional tables… for a quick chat, conference, or cocktails!
Have you ever tried to work at a coffee or laptop table and found that the height just wasn’t comfortable for you? Enter height-adjustable occasional tables! Occasional and personal tables with height-adjustable bases could be found throughout The Mart, providing users with the ability to tailor away-from-the-desk work to their personal needs. Both electronic and pneumatic lift options were seen in addition to the variety of shapes, sizes, and base options.

Nested in Nature … biophilia, but bigger!
Bright, bountiful florals and odes to all-things nature were seen across showrooms. The use of dried floral and large-scale plants was complimented by botanical and avian-inspired textiles. The inclusion of birds was everywhere – wallpapers, light fixtures, fabrics, and accessories. Many manufacturers highlighted pieces upholstered in Toile de Juoy fabrics with lush landscapes featuring flora and fauna.

So Sustainable… a priority for all.
Manufacturers across the board are committing to bettering their impact on their environments and communities. Sustainability metrics were emphasized more prominently than ever before.
Steelcase announced its commitment to a net-zero future with the release of the industry’s first-ever net-zero transition plan – to reduce carbon emissions by over 90% throughout its entire value chain by 2050.

Color Drenched… totally tone-on-tone!
While color trends were more varied than years past, one design trend was evident – monochromatic moments were everywhere.
Color-blocked lounge pieces staked their claim across showrooms. Complementary surfaces, finishes, and accessories create a fully-drenched effect.
